Color Bottle Cap Matching Game

Why is it that kids will master something then regress? Little Mister knew all his colors and then one day everything mysteriously became purple. Then, like magic, the next day all was green. There are spurts of correctness surrounded by nonsensical whims. (Nonsensical, isn't that so Jane Austin of me?)

Today he spontaneously bursts out and counts to 14! But now, all things that red are yellow. So, we need to make some kind of fun color review game. When we visit my Momma, Little Mister has a grand time playing with all the plastic bottles that she keeps around her apartment. She drinks bottled water and saves some of the bottles for little hands to play with. He really loves to take the lids off and try to get them back on. With this in mind, and with an over abundance of bottles at my disposal, I made a Colored Bottle and Cap Matching Game.

I poured some Acrylic paint in a clean and dry bottle. Capped it and had Little Mister shake the bottle until the inside was coated. We removed the lid and allowed the inside of the bottle and the cap to dry. We did this with 6 different colors. Once dry, he loved color matching the bottles with the lids.
