Sandpaper and Yarn Letters

Here is a real simple activity we have discovered to play and practice letters. I bought a 9.5 x 11 sheet of sandpaper and dug into a stash of small yarn pieces.

My son loves the letter T ... can you tell?
So simple and loads of fun!

  1. That's a great idea! Does the sandpaper help the letters hold their shapes?

    1. Yes, make sure you get at least the medium coarseness and the yarn "sticks" to it rather well!

  4. That is a great idea. It looks like something you can do over and over again once you have the yarn cut. The texture of the sandpaper adds a sense of fun to forming the letters.
